U.S. Representative Bill Flores (R-Texas) issued the following statement regarding the Department of Justice Inspector General report - A Review of Various Actions by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Department of Justice in Advance of the 2016 Election:

"It is extremely disturbing to see that our justice system has been undermined with political bias and errors in judgement by members of our nation’s top law enforcement agencies. While I believe that the vast majority of personnel at the FBI and the Department of Justice are devoted to upholding the law and to keeping hardworking Americans safe, this report further illustrates the need for these agencies to reestablish trust with the American people. I look forward to the upcoming Congressional joint hearing with the Inspector General to examine the report’s findings."

On Tuesday, June 19, 2018, the House committees on the Judiciary and Oversight and Government Reform will hold a joint hearing entitled "Oversight of the FBI and DOJ Actions in Advance of the 2016 Election." Inspector General Michael Horowitz will testify before the committees on the findings of the report.

It was a busy week in the House. We passed the Intelligence Authorization Act and the Unfunded Mandates Information and Transparency Act, and the Energy and Commerce Committee passed my bipartisan bill – the Advanced Nuclear Fuel Availability Act.
