The U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 5247, the Trickett Wendler, Frank Mongiello, Jordan McLinn, and Matthew Bellina Right to Try Act. Congressman Bill Flores (R-Texas) released the following statement regarding passage of the bill:

“Today, the House voted to give terminally-ill patients, who have limited treatment options, with increased access to experimental treatments. The Right to Try Act provides an alternative pathway for experimental treatments and therapies that may improve the quality of life of some patients who have nowhere else to turn. This bipartisan bill is an important pathway for hope and access to treatments currently not approved or licensed by the FDA, while carefully balancing patient protections. Going forward, I look forward to working with President Trump and his administration on accelerating the FDA drug approval process for all patient populations.”
