During the recent Congressional District Work Period, U.S. Representative Bill Flores (R-Texas) held three town hall events and numerous meetings to update constituents about the work being done in Congress, answer constituent questions and to seek feedback through the use of poll questions during town hall events.

"This series of town hall events was very successful. We had large participation numbers from constituents on the phone, online and on the radio. I was particularly pleased with the reach that we were able to garner, spanning all across the 17th district," Congressman Flores said. "This style of town hall events is very beneficial; they give me the opportunity to get feedback about the work being done in Washington, what needs to be done and what hardworking Texans want to see from their federal government."

During the town hall events, Congressman Flores was able to reach over 15,000 constituents. The two telephone town hall events had a total of 5,200 direct participants. The radio town hall included a large, but unmeasurable, broadcast and online audience. The Facebook Live feeds of the radio and telephone town hall events had 10,234 views while the events were live. View counts of the archived videos continue to grow and can be viewed at In addition, the Congressman met with well over 100 constituents in small group meetings and public events during this two week work period.

"I would like to thank the thousands of constituents who participated and shared the event online. I would also like to thank WTAW and Bryan Broadcasting for hosting our first-ever radio town hall event, as well as the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce for allowing us to use their offices to broadcast one of our telephone town halls. The reach and participation of these events is encouraging and we will continue to hold more town hall events to interact with the constituents of the 17th district in the future," Flores stated.
