A 'tele-town hall' meeting hosted by a local congressman Tuesday received the attention of several thousand people on the phone and online.

By the end of the 90-minute event with Representative Bill Flores, nearly 7,000 people had tuned into his Facebook Live feed, and 2,419 people were on the telephone, according to a spokesman.

Several topics were covered during the discussion including tax reform, national security threats and what to do with 'Obamacare'.

"We're still struggling in the House to get things done," said Rep. Flores who says the Affordable Healthcare Act continues to fail the American people.

His first question from a caller on the phone came from a man in Austin who asked Flores if he would be asking President Trump to release his tax returns.

"I will not be requesting the President's tax returns," responded Rep. Flores. "However, I would encourage you to go look at the other financial disclosure information that he had to make. You can look at those and that'll give you an idea of what his asset ownership is and his business engagements."

The congressman took several questions from his Facebook page and also conducted real-time poll questions from participants.

When asked who is the biggest threat to America right now, 33% said it was Russia. 29% said it was North Korea.
