The U.S. House of Representatives will soon be voting on Trade Promotion Authority (TPA). Congressman Bill Flores (R-Texas) has launched a webpage, flores.house.gov/tpa, to help get information out about TPA.
“President Obama has shown disregard for our Constitution and the legislative process. TPA provides us with a tool to restrict his power by allowing Congress to oversee trade deals and adding transparency and accountability to the process,” Congressman Flores stated. “I have launched flores.house.gov/tpa to better inform the constituents of the 17th Congressional District of Texas about what TPA does and does not do. There is a lot of misinformation about the bill that is being circulated; I am hopeful that this webpage will help clear the air about what the bill actually does and explain my reasons for supporting TPA.”
The webpage, flores.house.gov/tpa, contains key bullet points, op-eds, summaries and overviews of the legislative text, frequently asked questions, recent GOP weekly addresses regarding TPA and some infographics.
Congressman Bill Flores represents the 17th District of Texas and is an entrepreneur, former energy executive, Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chairman of the Republican Study Committee (RSC) and member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
