The U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 1301, the Department of Defense Appropriations Act, 2017. Congressman Bill Flores (R-Texas) issued the following statement regarding passage of the bill:
"In a world of growing geopolitical instability, the top priority of our federal government should always be to provide for the safety and security of all Americans. This Defense appropriations bill ensures that our military has the critical funding for a strong national defense and that our troops receive the resources and compensation that they deserve. I, along with other Conservatives in the House, will continue to work with the Trump administration to strengthen and rebuild our military and support the men and women who defend and protect our great nation."
